Manit Sriwanichpoom
Bangkok, Thailand , 1961
Manit is one of Thailand’s signal creators of conceptual photographic artwork. In 2007 Phaidon Press named him one of the world’s 100 best photographers. He is best known for his “Pink Man” series in which performance artist, writer, and poet, Somphong Tavee, pushes his shopping cart nonchalantly through Thailand’s consumerist society and the nation’s dark past of political violence.
