Krit Ngamsom

Krit made his name with “My Folk Experience of Kinetic Technology,” his first solo exhibition, as part of the Brand New 2008 project. Most of his works use found objects which offer humorous or even sarcastic takes on politics, religion, and art itself. Many pieces incorporate movement and animation – including “Klong Plane” (2011) and “Duchamp’s Heaven” (2011). Krit Ngamsom(b. 1983, Thailand) is a graduate of the School of Art at Bangkok University and and graduated with a MA in Visual Art at King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang. He creates interactive works influenced by childhood memories, often incorporating domestic objects such as electric fans and kitchen utensils. He was one of the artists selected for Thailand’s Brand New 2008. He has earlier participated in the group exhibitions Bangkok Bananas,Imagine Peace, Bangkok 226, Traces of Siamese Smile at Bangkok Art and Culture Center, Nuova (Arte) Povera Osage Gallery Hong Kong, Thai Transience Singapore Art Museum.
